A huge thank you to Lansing Educational Foundation and Delta Dental Foundation for delivering toothbrush kits
Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF) wrote a grant for toothbrush kits through Delta Dental Foundation last fall and received 1,900 kits to be distributed to the young students in the Lansing School District. Representatives from the LEF Board; Christine Aus, Sharon Burns, Chuck Moorehead, and Carol Page; delivered the kits to every child at Lansing Elementary and Lansing Intermediate Schools on Friday, February 28th. February is National Children's Dental Health Month, which is is an observance that brings together thousands of dedicated dental professionals, healthcare providers, and educators to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their caregivers, teachers and many others.
Lansing School District nurse, Ms. Kristen Dilka, helped deliver the kits to each classroom in Lansing Elementary and Lansing Intermediate School and reminded the children of the importance of brushing and flossing each day. PreKindergarten students will each receive a kit during the week of March 2nd.
Dr. Kiser with Little Chompers Pediatric Dentistry will be visiting the schools in May to further educate the students on the importance of dental health.
A huge thank you to Lansing Middle School student council students for helping put labels on each kit, to Ms. Dilka for spending her morning helping with the delivery and education, and LEF Board Members for their continued support of the students in our district!
