Fifth Graders at Lansing Intermediate School participate in Idiom Day
On Monday, February 3rd, fifth graders at Lansing Intermediate School participated in Idiom Day. Students selected an idiom to represent and were tasked with letting their imagination and creativity run wild!
"We were impressed with the cleverness and out-of-the-box thinking we’ve seen from several students," said Mr. John Riggs, fifth grade teacher. "Staff and students alike shared in this fun way to teach and learn figurative language, especially considering young learners tend to experience language in a literal sense. Having fun with language helps them better understand the meaning of some of the odd phrases in the English language."
