Mr. Dan Wessel named Superintendent of Lansing USD 469
On the evening of Thursday, February 6, Lansing USD 469 Interim Superintendent, Mr. Dan Wessel, was voted by the Lansing USD 469 School Board to be the permanent Superintendent starting July 1, 2020. Lansing USD 469 School Board President, Beth Stevenson, made the motion and Debbie Deere seconded it. Vote was 6-0 in favor to approve Dan Wessel as Superintendent.
Mr. Wessel is replacing Dr. Darrel Stufflebeam, who retired from the position in July 2019. Mr. Wessel has been with the Lansing School District for the past 23 years. Prior to being the Interim Superintendent, Mr. Wessel served as the Assistant Superintendent and Director of Technology. During his time in Lansing, he has served as a math teacher, computer teacher, assistant principal at Lansing High School, and has served as the Assistant Superintendent since 2011.
"I look forward to continuing my service to the Lansing School district and community," said Mr. Wessel when asked about his thoughts on stepping into the new role. "Moving forward with our goals and initiatives set forth by the Board of Education will be our focus this year. Our students deserve all of our energy and effort to help them grow into well-informed, active members in our community."
