Lansing Intermediate students exploring the weather with meteorologist project
Fifth graders in Mr. Riggs and Ms. Euler’s science classes are wrapping up their weather unit this week with a Meteorologist Project. Students have learned about a variety of types of weather fronts, tools for measuring weather, and what the symbols mean on a weather map. In their culminating project, student triad groups researched weekend weather forecasts and developed a script. The groups then filmed their forecast video using a green screen and inserting weather related graphics that give the finished video a more polished look.
"Our students have learned so much during this unit, and they’ve had a lot of fun at the same time," said Mr. Riggs. "They are now knowledgeable about science behind weather predications, and should be able to understand their local forecasts."
