Queen Bee Theatre visited Lansing School District this week to bring a theatre production to the elementary and early childhood students. The production, titled "The Elves and the Shoemaker," was written and directed by Lansing's very own, Dr. Hollie Becker. Dr. Becker is a Lansing High School graduate, a parent to two Lansing students, and the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Lansing School District. The young actors cast in the production are all students in the Lansing School District and range in age from six to ten years old.
"I just love watching children grow in their love for and confidence in the performing arts," said Dr. Becker. "Theatre helps students develop skills useful throughout life and work."
"The Elves and the Shoemaker" debuted their production at Lansing Community Library on Saturday, December 14th to an audience of approximately sixty people. Dr. Becker then brought the production to Lansing Elementary and Lansing Early Childhood, where our young students got the opportunity to see their peers bring the story to life.
