Students in Mr. Keith Andrews's Civics and World History classes write letters to veterans in hospice care
Lansing High School Social Studies teacher, Mr. Keith Andrews, recently gave his Civics and World History students the opportunity to send letters and cards to veterans in hospice care. Mr. Andrews took on the project through inspiration from Janine Stange, a motivational speaker, singer, on-air personality, and creator of Janine's Team, which is an organization that encourages people across the country to write notes to specific members of our armed forces or their families. Her latest mission, titled "Mission 39", urges people to send Christmas cards to lonely veterans in hospice care.
"The students were excited to get a chance to share a little time with some veterans," said Mr. Andrews. "Students in both World History and Civics classes participated in the project. It is/was a great community service activity!"

"I felt like it was a great chance to send a little Holiday cheer to some of our most distinguished citizens, who gave so much to our country, that we may be able to enjoy our Holiday's in a free society."
