KMBC9 News Anchor / Reporter visits Lansing school for Kansas Reads to Preschoolers week
A huge thank you to KMBC9 news anchor and reporter Haley Harrison for coming to read to our Lansing preschoolers on Tuesday, November 12th. Ms. Heather Trinkle, Lansing's Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, reached out to KMBC9 earlier this month in hopes of getting a local celebrity to read to the students for Kansas Reads to Preschoolers week, which is November 10 - 16 this year. The school was excited to hear that Haley Harrison was available and willing to come read to the students on November 12th.
"Kansas Reads to Preschoolers is an annual event that promotes reading to all Kansas children from birth through age five. Through the statewide program, parents, librarians, and caregivers are encouraged to read a chosen title during a selected week and month," according to the Kansas State Library website. This year's chosen book is I Like Myself, by Karen Beaumont.
A huge thank you to Haley Harrison at KMBC 9 News for taking the time out of her day to read to our littlest Lions!!!
