Lansing School District honors our veterans
Students across the district showed their appreciation for our veterans on the days leading up to November 11th in a variety of ways. Prior to the annual Kiwanis / PTA Spaghetti dinner, our very own veteran, Lansing Elementary Principal Mr. Tim Newton asked the veterans in attendance to stand so that everyone could honor them with a round of applause and thank them for their service. The Loyal Lansingers sang several songs in commemoration of the holiday and Mrs. Robinson's second grade class performed "God Bless America" and "America the Beautiful" using sign language.
Even our youngest Lions learned the sacrifices of our veterans. Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Kannaday encouraged their kindergarten students to write letters to Operation Gratitude, which is an organization that sends letters, cards, and packages to troops and veterans.
Lansing USD469 thanks each and every military service member, past and present, for keeping us safe!
