Lansing PTA holds Book Bingo on National Author's Day!
The Lansing Parent Teacher Association (PTA) hosted a free Book Bingo on Friday, November 1st at Lansing Intermediate School. The event was open to the public and everyone attending played Bingo for free for a chance to win books.
"Lansing PTA received new books donated from Books A Million last year and used scholastic dollars earned from the book fair to purchase new books to give away at the event," said Celeste Hoins, the Lansing PTA membership coordinator. "Students could bring in a used book to swap at a gently-used book table."
The PTA also brought in a local author, Heather Epps, to read her children’s book “Epinephrine” to the students. Mrs. Epps has a child with multiple life-threatening food allergies, and her book teaches young children how epinephrine is used to treat anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction). She donated copies of her book to Lansing Elementary and Lansing Intermediate school libraries.
Don't miss the Lansing PTA's upcoming event, the Annual Spaghetti Dinner, this Thursday in the Lansing Elementary cafeteria. They are partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Lansing to raise funds for the Bringing Up Grades (B.U.G) Program at Lansing Elementary and Intermediate Schools.
