Students learn about the states of matter through an experiment involving root beer floats
Mrs. Mills' and Mrs. Stevenson's third grade classes had a blast conducting an experience using root beer floats on Friday, October 18th. "This was part of our "States of Matter" unit," said Mrs. Stevenson. "Students were studying the properties of solids, liquids, and gasses."
The experiment gave the students a hands-on experience with science and was made possible by the generous donations of parents.
"Science Lab days are always one of my favorite days," said Mrs. Mills. "I always look to find fun ways to incorporate learning into the classroom. I love to surprise them with the lab and see the look on their faces when I tell them that we will be observing the properties of all three states of matter while enjoying our soda floats!"
