Elementary students have fun learning about apples in September!
Students in second grade learned about apples during the month of September through fun experiments, STEM activities, taste testing, and art projects.
Students in Mrs. Robinson's class participated in apple taste testing to get an idea which types of apples they liked most and worked on integrated apple activities graphing their favorites on Apple Math. They also learned about Tall Tales with Johnny Appleseed vs. Nonfiction stories and practiced sequence words making applesauce. They ended the month making 'Apple Smiles' with apple slices, peanut butter, and marshmallows.
Mrs. Phillips class worked on STEM activities during the week by building apple structures with toothpicks combining design, engineering, and fine motor skills.
Parents made the activities possible by donating various apple snacks and supplies for the activities.
