Lansing USD469 staff welcomes back students for the 2019-2020 school year
The Lansing USD469 teachers and staff were excited to welcome students back into their classrooms on Wednesday, August 14th for the 2019 - 2020 school year. All elementary / intermediate school students and new middle / high school students (including those entering sixth and ninth grades) began on the 14th, with the rest starting Thursday, August 15th. This was to allow the new students a chance to get used to their schedules and their new buildings. Everyone was "all smiles" as they started the school day, even the youngest lions who were entering school for the first time.
Lansing Interim Superintendent, Mr. Dan Wessel, started his day welcoming students arriving at the elementary school and visited each of the schools at least once throughout the day. "Lansing teachers and staff have been working incredibly hard this past week preparing for the arrival of their new students," said Mr. Wessel. "We have a lot of new and exciting things going on in the district this year, ranging from Camp Kindergarten at the elementary school to a new engineering class at the high school. The 2019 - 2020 school year is no doubt going to be a wonderful one for our district."
It is a great day (and YEAR) to be a lion!
