Lansing shows off its creative side on April 13th at the 5th Annual Lansing District Art Showcase
Lansing High School was showered with art on Saturday, April 13th for the 5th Annual Lansing District Art Showcase. Lansing School District Art teachers Ms. Blankartz, Mr. Catloth, Ms. Bucher, Ms. Schmidt, Ms. Ashford, and Mr. Simmons have worked hard all school year selecting art from students to be displayed at the event. Other artwork displayed was from Lil Rascals Daycare, Leavenworth Country Arts Association, and University of Saint Mary. Lansing Educational Foundation organized and funded the event and partnered with Kiwanis who served pancakes from Chris Cakes.
Not only were attendees able to enjoy the artistic talent of our students and community, they were also able to bid on some nice silent auction items and participate in art activities such as face painting, cookie decorating, finger painting, and photo ops. Student pianists Michael Im, Rachel Rothmeyer, Nicole Svedarsky, and Cam Burns provided background music for the event as well.
All proceeds from the showcase go directly back to the art departments in Lansing School District.
