Lansing Elementary Students learn about empathy at P.R.I.D.E. Assembly
Lansing Elementary students attended a P.R.I.D.E. Assembly on February 13 and learned about respect and empathy. Mr. Rothmeyer, Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Matzeder, Mrs. Blankartz, and Mr. Catloth led the assembly and taught the kids the importance of being kind to others. They shared a video about empathy and asked for students to give examples of their peers who had shown empathy and kindness towards them. The students loved sharing their experiences and learning how to continue to spread kindness in the Lansing community. Awards were given to two students from each class that have modeled this behavior. The Lansing Elementary / Intermediate Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Robinson, shared her thoughts on the event:
"Our P.R.I.D.E. assemblies are a great way to bring all of our students together and celebrate their success along with their teachers! It also gives us a chance to have fun with everyone and focus on a very important character trait each month."
