Lansing High School Senior, Hunter Hotaling Receives Prudential Spirit of Community Award for Kansas
The Prudential Spirit of Community Award Program awards students across the United States for their community service. Lansing's very own, Hunter Hotaling, was one of only two winners from the state of Kansas this year that will receive $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. for national recognition.
“It was an honor to be recognized by Prudential for our involvement in the community. What I’m really excited about is the opportunity to go to the capital and spread awareness for our next project on the national level!” Just recently, Hunter also received the Leavenworth-Lansing Chamber of Commerce Junior Citizen of the Year Award in our community.
When asked about Hunter as a student, Julie Hinckley, Lansing High School Gifted Facilitator, had high praise. "I know of no other student who has done more community work, both locally and nationally, than Hunter. He has made a real difference in the lives of those who needed it most and will no doubt continue to give of himself to communities in need."
Congratulations to Hunter, who has put in countless hours of community service!
You have made the Lansing community so very proud!
