Lansing USD 469 Board of Education member Kirsten Workman recently represented the district at the School Boards for Academic Excellence (SBAE) Summer Conference, held June 24–26 in Charleston, South Carolina.
During the conference, Workman was selected as one of four school board members from across the country to serve as a panelist during a "Success Across the Network" session. The panel highlighted examples of local initiatives and experiences from school districts around the nation.
The conference brought together school board members from 39 states and featured presentations from education professionals, researchers, legal experts, and public policy leaders on topics impacting K–12 education.
Workman plans to share highlights from the conference and discuss key takeaways during the next regular meeting of the Lansing USD 469 Board of Education on Monday, July 13, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lansing District Office.
Lansing USD 469 appreciates opportunities for Board of Education members to participate in professional learning and bring back ideas and perspectives that support informed governance on behalf of the district and community.
