Government

Government is a one-semester course that is required by the State of Kansas for graduation. The focus of the class is to accomplish two goals. First, students will understand how the government of their country is structured and how it operates. Second, students will expand their understanding of the vocabulary and the social and cultural characteristics unique to American government. The format is 'survey' which means we will cover a lot of material at a rapid pace. Studets should expect to read one chapter per week along with other activities.
Students are provided with a listing of chapters and activities for the semester and how they will be evaluated is also explained. This class is an excellent foundatiion for political science and the study of American History at the college level. For other students it is an excellent preparation to reasearch and understand current events and be an informed citizen.
