The goal of Social Studies classes is to help students acquire a working, growing knowledge of the culture they live in. Every student needs a solid foundation in history, political science, and the behavioral sciences.
Students are given a schedule of what we will cover during the semester and I outline for them what my expectations are both academically, and the structure of the classroom.
Learning is life long for Social Studies. History happens every day and human behavior is a subject none of us ever gets tired of. When students complete High School the assumption is that they have a solid base of cultural knowledge upon which they will continue to build both formally and informally.
