Lettering in Kayettes is determened by the following criteria:
(as of August 16, 2008)
- The Kayette must earn 10 points.
- The Kayette must earn at least 1 point in each category: school, community, nation, world.
- 3 of the points (regardless of the category) must have been earned through hands-on/active participation in a service project (as opposed to donating items to the club or a cause.)
- The Kayette must attend at least 80% of the meetings unless she has a valid excuse.
- First year letters will receive a Kayette patch.
- Second and third year letters will receive pins.
- Fourth year letters will receive a silver cord for Graduation.
- An exception will be made for a student who has transferred from another school. She may receive a cord if she has lettered for 2 years.
- The policy for receiving cords is effective for the Class of 2012.
