Lansing High School Bands

Luke D. Johnson
This is Mr. Johnson's fifth year as Director of Bands at Lansing High School . Previously he was Assistant Director of Bands in Dodge City , KS for two years, and also the Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at Dodge City Community College . He completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe , KS in 2003, and his Master of Music with an emphasis in band conducting from Kansas State University in 2008. Mr. Johnson has an active private trumpet studio and also performs around the Kansas City area in various community bands, churches, and other ensembles. He has a wife, Alyssa who also has a degree in music education, and teaches private oboe. They have two children: Max, 4 and Abby, 3.

Becky Harris
Ms. Harris is beginning her fifth year as Assistant Director of Bands at Lansing High School . Previously she held the 5-12 band and 7-12 choir position for the Mill Creek Valley School District in Alma , KS for one year. She earned her bachelor of music education degree from the University of Kansas in 2003 and completed her Masters of Education degree from Baker University in 2008 . Ms. Harris is also an 11 year member of the 35th Infantry Division Band of the Kansas Army National Guard where she is the principal flute player and lead female vocalist for the concert, jazz and rock bands
