Frequently Asked Questions
For Pre-Registration

1. Can I take Mixed Choir or Girls Ensemble all year if I have band?
Yes. You will have to let Mrs. Carmichael, the Registrar, know you are wanting to do that. You will drop PE but still be enrolled in the Health portion.

2. What do I need to do to be in Video Production?
You will need to pick up an application from Mr. Douglas and have it filled out when you turn in your pre enrollment form.

3. If I take Special Education classes in place of Core or Exploratory classes what do I need to do on my Pre-Enrollment form?
For your core classes you do not need to do anything. But for your Exploratory classes you will need to number them (1 being your favorite). For example: Study Skills takes the place of an Exploratory class. So be sure to mark your favorite exploratory classes with number 1 so Mrs. Carmichael will know which one to enroll you in. For more information regarding this topic please contact your special education teacher or Mrs. Allen.

4. What if my form doesn’t get turned in?
If you do not turn in a form the computer will place you in classes that need to be balanced or filled. They may not be your first choices. If you never turn a form in and the computer creates a schedule for you, you will NOT be able to change that schedule. It is VERY important to turn your Pre Enrollment form in.

5. What if I was in Connections last year and want to be in it again next year?
Connections is teacher recommended. Therefore, after school has been in session teachers will begin recommending students to take Connections. If you feel that this class really benefited you then after school has started be sure to inform your teachers that you would like to be considered again for Connections.

6. What is Student Aide?
Some teachers request to have student aides. Student Aides are students who are in good standing in school. Grades are 2.50 GPA or better, no suspensions and good attendance records. Student Aides can do various items such as, grading papers, running errands, decorating bulletin boards and other items that may come up. Student Aides do not receive a letter grade. They may receive a pass or fail for their work.

7. Who determines what math course I take?
Math for 7 and 8 graders is determined by your current math teacher. They recommend what math course will be best for you based on your participation, grades and overall concept of the mathematical skills that are being taught. New Students moving in to LMS will be placed in a math course that is closley related to thier previous schools curriculum. The final grade from thier school will also be used to determine the best placement.

8. What if I will not be returning to LMS?
Please indicate that on this form and still turn it in to your Channel One teacher. If you will be
traveling overseas please contact Mrs. Carmichael to obtain your student cumulative file to hand-carry with you.

9. What if I would like to request a certain Team / Schedule. What do I need to do?
Requests can be made by writing a letter stating the request, but are in NO WAY guaranteed to take place. All requests will be reviewed by Administration prior to completing the request. If a request is denied you will be notified of that, but we will not be obligated to give reason for denial. Turn in all letters with this pre-enrollment form OR to Mrs. Carmichael in the Guidance Office. Requests are on a first come first serve basis.
