SWING CHOIR

This is a performance-oriented class. During first
semester music performed is of a more popular style, while during second semester
emphasis is placed on standard choral literature in preparation for music festival.
Participation in this choir encourages students to develop their musical and movement
skills. Choral concepts including vocal production technique, tone, dynamics and
harmony are taught along with the choreography movements. This is a select
ensemble open to students by audition only. Auditions are held in the spring of the
previous year or whenever an opening occurs. This choir performs in three concerts a
year plus many out-of-school performances and music festivals. Student participation
at performances is required.
