 DECA had a very productive weekend. We had 10 students qualify for nationals with Allie Ewing being named Kansas DECA President. We also have 3 candidates to attend the national leadership seminars in Kentucky as well. The following have qualified for nationals: Sara Letson(5th Overall)- Restaurant & Food Service Management; Kyla Thrasher/Jami Hunter(4th Overall & 1st Overall)- Buying & Merchandising Team AND Business Services Research Event(Corps of Engineers); Paige Henderson/Jeremy Sisco(1st Overall)- Financial Services Research Event(CNB Bank); Parker King/Tyler Gates/Travis Lytle(1st Overall)- Financial Literacy Project(Seminars held two weeks ago); Brandon Wilson/Nick Whetstone(1st Overall)- Sports & Entertainment Research Event(T-bones);and Allison Ewing- DECA State President. The following are candidates for leadership conferences: Kaitlynn Boyer, Celeste Brinkley,and Bridget McKenzie. Way to go and good luck at Nationals!
