As of Fall 2018, Lansing District Enrollment was 2,530 students.

Lansing Elementary School Total Enrollment: 640 students

Lansing Intermediate School Total Enrollment: 387 students

Lansing Middle School Total Enrollment: 644 students

Lansing High School Total Enrollment: 859 students.


Lansing USD 469 serves the city of Lansing as well as surrounding rural areas that are included in the boundaries of the 49 square mile school district. Some of the Lansing school district encompasses parts of the city of Leavenworth. The city of Lansing has a population of 11,265 while the Lansing School system has an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students K-12. The district employs 192 licensed staff, 220 classified staff and 14 administrators. The majority of our teachers have advanced degrees beyond a Bachelor degree.

The Lansing Schools operate an early childhood program, an elementary building for grades K-3, an intermediate school for grades 4-5, a middle school for grades 6-8, and a high school for grades 9-12. The Lansing School District also houses the New Beginnings Day Treatment and LINCS (18-21) special education programs for Leavenworth County. The Board of Education's policies reflect the philosophy that Lansing Schools are designed and operated to meet the needs of all students enrolled to include their families, communities, and the larger social domain of life after school. Parents who have a child with an exceptionality requiring special education services to include gifted education should contact the appropriate grade level building administrative office or the Lansing Special Education Administrative Office at 913-727-1755.

Resident students are defined as living with a parent or legal guardian within the boundaries of the district. Non-resident students are considered for acceptance at Lansing Public Schools based on their prior attendance, academic achievements, and space availability. Professional Staff

The Lansing School District has 192 licensed staff, 220 classified staff and 14 administrators. Each attendance center has its own administrative, counseling, nursing and library staff. High quality staff development is essential for creating schools in which all students and staff members are life-long learners. Lansing School District staff is committed to the development and success of every child.



Lansing is located in the northeastern corner of Kansas bordering the Missouri River Valley. The district is approximately 49 square miles and is bounded to the north by the city of Leavenworth and to the east by the Missouri River.
